In his new role, Edwards will lead the company’s financial strategy, investor relations, and capital structure optimisation, supporting Tenant Inc.’s mission to revolutionise property management through its cloud-based open platform technology.
Before joining Tenant Inc., Edwards served as Chief Financial Officer at AutoAlert, a BlackRock portfolio company and data mining SaaS platform serving more than 2,000 automotive dealerships across North America. During his tenure, he led corporate finance, go-to-market strategy, and human resources while driving margin improvement, liquidity management, and business transformation. Edwards successfully rebuilt the finance team, secured a five million dollar line of credit, and achieved significant cost savings through improved processes.
Prior to that, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer at WeVideo, an EdTech SaaS backed by Thompson Street Capital. There, he focused on early profitability improvements, completed a comprehensive Big Four audit, and introduced cost-optimisation initiatives that delivered approximately one million dollars in annual savings. His balanced approach to financial discipline and operational agility made him a trusted strategic partner to the CEO and board.
Earlier in his career, Edwards served as Chief Financial Officer at Planet DDS, a Level Equity portfolio company with over 300 employees and 60 million dollars in annual recurring revenue. He led capital-raising efforts that resulted in investment from Aquiline Capital Partners, completed multiple acquisitions totalling 20 million dollars in annual recurring revenue, and worked closely with leadership to sustain more than 30 per cent annual revenue growth while enhancing profitability.
Before that, Edwards spent nearly a decade in senior financial roles at Metrostudy and Hanley Wood, now known as Zonda. As CFO and COO at Metrostudy, he drove double-digit revenue growth and led the company to a twelve times EBITDA sale valuation. At Hanley Wood, he held key leadership roles, including Vice President of Finance and Executive Director, overseeing 400 million dollars in debt restructuring, equity raises, and enterprise-wide reporting system implementations.
Edwards began his career in public accounting with KPMG and PwC, where he built a strong foundation in audit, compliance, and financial governance—expertise that continues to shape his strategic leadership in SaaS and private equity-backed organisations.
