Shalimar Paints Limited has officially named Kuldip Raina as its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, a decision that reflects the company’s continued trust in his transformative leadership. The appointment, effective April 10, 2025, will span a three-year term until April 9, 2028, subject to shareholder nod.
The announcement, rooted in the approval of the Board of Directors and recommended by the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, marks a strategic leap for the legacy brand. Raina, who has been serving as Director – Sales, Marketing, and Strategic Sourcing since May 2022, will now steer the company from the front.
A luminary with over three decades of cross-industry experience, Raina is revered for his visionary style and for architecting business revivals across paints, FMCG, consumer products, and organized retail sectors. His deep-rooted understanding of market dynamics and consumer behaviour has been instrumental in elevating Shalimar’s brand strength, sharpening strategy, and fostering significant partnerships during his ongoing tenure.
Before joining Shalimar Paints, Raina was the CEO of Nerofix Private Limited, a venture under the Kansai Nerolac Paints umbrella, where he was pivotal in carving a niche for the brand in adhesives and construction chemicals. His professional saga also spans impactful roles at Kansai Nerolac Paints, Jubilant Industries, Arvind Brands, and ITC Limited, where he consistently delivered business growth, category leadership, and turnaround strategies.
In line with corporate governance norms, Shalimar Paints affirmed that Raina holds no familial connections with the board and is not disqualified from his new role under any regulatory constraints, as per stock exchange guidelines.
