SES Successfully Launches Ninth and Tenth O3b mPOWER Satellites

SES, a leading global satellite operator, has successfully launched its ninth and tenth O3b mPOWER satellites from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The launch, carried out by a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, took place at 5:12 PM local time.

These two new satellites are set to significantly enhance global coverage and provide incremental capacity for SES’s second-generation medium Earth orbit (MEO) system, O3b mPOWER. The O3b mPOWER constellation is designed to deliver high-performance, flexible, and scalable connectivity services to a wide range of customers worldwide.

The successful deployment of these satellites marks another critical step in building out the full O3b mPOWER system, which promises to revolutionize connectivity for governments, enterprises, and mobile network operators. The advanced capabilities of these satellites will enable more robust and reliable internet access, particularly in remote and underserved areas.

“The successful launch of our ninth and tenth O3b mPOWER satellites brings us closer to realizing the full potential of our next-generation MEO system,” stated a representative from SES. “These satellites will play a crucial role in scaling up our services and delivering unparalleled connectivity to our global customer base.”

Looking ahead, the remaining three O3b mPOWER satellites are scheduled for launch in 2026, which will complete the initial deployment of the constellation and further expand its global reach and capacity.
