ServiceNow strikes major cybersecurity deal with Armis amid rising AI threats

Enterprise software company ServiceNow has announced its biggest acquisition to date as it looks to strengthen its position in cybersecurity. The company has agreed to buy Armis for $7.75 billion, responding to a sharp rise in cyberattacks linked to wider AI adoption across industries.

With this deal, ServiceNow plans to integrate Armis security capabilities such as device scanning and threat detection into its platform. These tools have become increasingly important as sophisticated attacks target major global companies. Armis is backed by Alphabet and is known for protecting connected devices across complex enterprise environments. Despite the strategic move, ServiceNow shares slipped around 3 percent as investors reacted cautiously to the company’s recent string of acquisitions.

“Our security stack, with the acquisition of Armis, is very well positioned, so we won’t need to do any more M and A in security space,” ServiceNow Chief Financial Officer Gina Mastantuono told a news agency. The company said the deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026 and could triple the market opportunity for its security and risk business.

Industry experts see the move as a bid to stay ahead in orchestration and governance by adding strong intellectual property, technology leadership and customers. In recent months, ServiceNow has also acquired security firm Veza, AI company Moveworks and sales automation platform Logik.ai, formerly Logik.io. The $2.85 billion purchase of Moveworks was completed earlier this month.

Armis was valued at $6.1 billion in a funding round in November and had been preparing for an initial public offering. That funding was led by the alternative investment platform of Goldman Sachs, with participation from CapitalG, Alphabet’s venture capital arm. Founded in 2015, Armis recently shared a three year plan to reach $1 billion in annual recurring revenue after crossing the $300 million mark in August.
