Red Bull, the world’s leading energy drink brand, has appointed Saurabh Sharma as Sales Director, strengthening its leadership team in India. With close to two decades of experience in the fast-moving consumer goods and beverage industry, Sharma brings deep expertise in sales leadership, franchise management, and business expansion across varied markets.
Before joining Red Bull, Sharma spent nearly ten years at PepsiCo, where he most recently served as Franchise Director for North, East, and Central India. In this position, he led franchise operations across North India, Nepal, and the Tropicana business in India. He successfully drove volume growth, profitability, and distribution excellence, while implementing premium go-to-market strategies across multiple regions.
Earlier, as Associate Director for Franchise Development covering Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, Sharma managed some of PepsiCo’s highest revenue-generating markets. He was instrumental in aligning strategic initiatives that boosted market share and operational efficiency. His previous assignments in revenue management and franchise operations in Maharashtra, Goa, and North Karnataka strengthened his expertise in both field and strategic sales functions.
Before his tenure at PepsiCo, Sharma worked with NourishCo Beverages Limited, a Tata-PepsiCo joint venture, where he played a key role in setting up operations in Gujarat and Maharashtra. His efforts helped achieve profitable growth and build strong channel partnerships. At Mars, he managed business operations across Maharashtra, Goa, and Gujarat, overseeing retail and specialist sales while driving regional performance.
Saurabh Sharma began his career at Perfetti Van Melle, managing sales in southern Kerala. His early experience in the confectionery segment helped him develop leadership and territory management skills that later defined his career trajectory.
His professional journey reflects a consistent record of building high-performance teams, strengthening customer relationships, and driving category growth through innovation and strategic execution. His appointment marks a significant step in Red Bull’s plan to enhance its sales leadership and accelerate growth in the Indian market.
