Puttur Entrepreneur Satheesh Kanchi Drives EdTech and Innovation in Tirupati

Satheesh Kanchi, a 50-year-old entrepreneur from Puttur, is reshaping Tirupati’s innovation landscape through ventures in technology, education, and the culinary sector. Inspired by values of hard work and service learned from his father, a clerk in the State Electricity Board, Satheesh has built a global business presence while staying rooted in his hometown.

Recognised by VISION 2047 and Make in India as a next-generation entrepreneur, Satheesh leads three tech companies—DevRabbit IT Solutions, OneHubPOS Solutions, and Mindtronix—and heads Sloka-The Birla School, a franchise of Birla Open Minds International School.

DevRabbit IT Solutions, launched in 2016, is a California-based consultancy with offices in Tirupati and Hyderabad. It employs over 100 people and specialises in Salesforce, ServiceNow, Business AI, and NetSuite. In 2019, Satheesh launched OneHubPOS Solutions, a cloud-based point-of-sale system for restaurants and retail. After raising a $3 million seed round in 2023 with Loomis AB, it now has over 40 employees across California, Tirupati, and Bengaluru.

Mindtronix, co-founded with technologist MSA Srivastav, exports curriculum-based DIY learning kits to the USA. These kits, designed for Class 1 to 10 students, are eco-friendly and aim to make STEM education hands-on and engaging. Initially focused on aiding teachers, the kits have grown into a global educational tool.

Sloka-The Birla School stands out for its unique integration of agriculture with learning. Set among fields of paddy and coriander, the school promotes learning with nature. Mindtronix was born from this environment in 2016, addressing the gap in practical STEM learning.

Satheesh also founded Tirupati Spices, a South Indian restaurant chain in California offering traditional pickles, chutneys, and preservatives. This venture, backed by a ₹40 crore investment in Tirupati, connects local produce with global markets. His wife, Sujatha Kanchi, has played a key role in all his ventures. “Sujatha has supported our family and my dreams from day one, shaping every major decision,” said Satheesh.

His cultural project, Tirupati Bommalu, revives Kondapalli wooden dolls and crafts wooden art for firms like SBI and Ramoji Film City. Looking ahead, Satheesh plans to invest another ₹40 crore in Tirupati for a food processing unit, an IT hub, and expansion of Sloka, aiming to create 400 to 500 new jobs.
