Bengaluru-based startup Sarvam has introduced its Samvaad AI agents on WhatsApp, marking a major step forward in transforming how businesses interact with customers. The new voice and chat agents, powered by Meta’s Business Calling API, allow seamless engagement within a single conversation thread. Customers can smoothly switch between voice calls and chat, while the agents support 11 Indian languages across text, voice, and interactive widgets, enabling personalised and context-aware communication.
Sarvam’s no-code platform allows enterprises to design and deploy agents rapidly, using pre-built templates for sales, customer support, and operations. This reduces deployment timelines from months to just days. Early adoption has already demonstrated use cases such as lead qualification, KYC assistance, order capture with integrated voice purchasing, customer support automation, and appointment management tools. These solutions are making business operations faster, smarter, and more efficient.
During a live demonstration, Kartik K., who leads conversational AI on WhatsApp at Sarvam, and Tushar Goswamy, head of Edge AI and GTM Leadership, showcased the platform by ordering a desk in Hindi through the agent. The demo highlighted its multilingual fluency and intuitive design.
Sarvam was the first startup selected by the IndiaAI Mission to build the country’s foundational AI model. The company continues to expand its innovation pipeline with Samvaad and its 24-billion parameter Sarvam-M language model. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has confirmed that the model is expected to be released early next year, positioning India at the forefront of AI development.
