Samsung unveils the Galaxy Z TriFold its thinnest and largest foldable device so far

Samsung has introduced a new foldable smartphone that expands the idea of what a foldable can be. The Galaxy Z TriFold brings a multi folding design with a large display that aims to combine the convenience of a phone with the productivity of a tablet.

When unfolded, the device opens into a ten inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a resolution of 2160 by 1584, a refresh rate of 120 Hz and peak brightness of 1600 nits. The outer screen measures six point five inches with Full HD plus resolution and can reach up to 2600 nits. Both displays come with Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 protection and feature ten megapixel selfie cameras.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset paired with sixteen gigabytes of RAM. It offers storage options of five hundred twelve gigabytes or one terabyte. On the back, the triple camera system includes a two hundred megapixel main sensor, a twelve megapixel ultrawide lens and a ten megapixel telephoto lens with three times optical zoom. A five thousand six hundred milliamp hour battery is divided across three sections and supports forty five watt wired charging and fifteen watt wireless charging.

The Galaxy Z TriFold runs Android 16 with One UI 8 and introduces standalone Samsung DeX for the first time. This feature allows users to switch to a desktop style interface directly from the quick panel. The large screen supports three apps running side by side. Dual titanium hinges help protect the main display and ensure smooth folding. The device measures three point nine millimetres when unfolded and weighs three hundred nine grams. It also includes IP48 dust and water resistance along with Wi Fi 7 and 5G support.

The phone will be available in South Korea on December 12 at a price of two thousand five hundred dollars. It will reach China, Taiwan, Singapore and the UAE by the end of December. The United States launch is scheduled for early 2026. The device will be offered in a single colour called Crafted Black.
