Three decades after entering the Indian market, Samsung has outlined a renewed long term strategy focused on people driven innovation, Indian talent, and India led product development. The company has unveiled its new vision titled “Powering Innovation for India” as it completes 30 years of operations in the country.
The new roadmap highlights Samsung’s continued commitment to India’s digital transformation, Make in India manufacturing goals, and innovation based economic growth. Since its entry in 1995 with televisions, Samsung has grown into a major technology partner, operating one of the world’s largest mobile manufacturing facilities in Noida and delivering India built innovations to its global ecosystem.
JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, reflected on the milestone, stating: “From selling our first TV in India in 1995, when liberalisation was unlocking new possibilities to becoming the most trusted technology partner for Bharat today, Samsung’s journey has been shaped by India’s confidence, creativity, and limitless ambition.” He added that Samsung aims to deliver secure, intuitive, and personalised technologies for young Indians while working closely with the Government of India towards a Viksit Bharat.
Samsung reported revenue of ₹1.11 lakh crore and said it is the only brand in India offering a full end to end AI ecosystem. This includes Galaxy AI for smartphones, tablets, and wearables, Bespoke AI for home appliances, and Vision AI for televisions and smart monitors, all connected through SmartThings.
The company currently operates manufacturing plants in Chennai and Noida, runs R and D centres in Delhi, Noida, and Bengaluru, and has a design centre in Delhi NCR. Samsung Design Delhi focuses on culturally relevant innovations such as Kids TV and design elements for Galaxy M and F Series devices.
Across its R and D network, It’s teams are advancing work in AI, accessibility, streaming, digital displays, language intelligence, and next generation networks. With over 14,000 patents filed, Samsung positions India as a key innovation hub within its global strategy.
The vision also extends beyond products. It is expanding university collaborations, working with startups, and supporting skill development through programmes like Samsung Solve for Tomorrow, Samsung Innovation Campus, and Samsung DOST. These initiatives offer grants, incubation support, training in AI and IoT, and employment opportunities.
Samsung said its CSR initiatives have benefited nearly 1.5 million people across India, supporting education, sustainability, and digital inclusion.
