With global sporting events increasingly shaped by technology, Samsung has revealed the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition, a special smartphone created for athletes competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The South Korean electronics maker said the device is designed to support athletes throughout their journey, from their stay in the Olympic Village to their time at competition venues.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition features a custom design inspired by the Milano Cortina 2026 Games. It comes in a blue finish influenced by Italian design, paired with a gold-coloured metal frame. The device also includes a clear case with a circular blue magnet and laurel leaf detailing. Samsung said these design elements are meant to mark athlete participation in the Games, with no changes to the core hardware.
Each unit includes exclusive Olympic Winter Games–themed wallpapers created for Milano Cortina 2026. According to Samsung, the curved visuals reflect winter sports and are inspired by marks formed when skate blades move across ice surfaces. The device also comes pre-loaded with a selected range of apps and services to assist athletes during the Games.
These include the Galaxy Athlete Card, which allows athletes to exchange profiles, collect cards, and join digital activities. The phone also offers 100GB of 5G connectivity through a 5G eSIM, along with Samsung Wallet access for digital passes and services. Athlete365 integration provides performance and mental health support, with updates delivered through Galaxy AI’s Now Brief feature. Official Olympic apps such as the Olympic Games app, IOC Hotline, and PinQuest are included, along with a pre-installed fitness app that helps track workouts and deliver personalised training insights using Village gym equipment.
Samsung said the Galaxy Z Flip7 Olympic Edition will be distributed at Olympic Villages across 6 cities starting January 30. The device will be provided to nearly 3,800 Olympians and Paralympians from around 90 countries. Samsung Open Stations will also be set up to offer on-site customer service, including device activation, data transfer, and technical support.
The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a foldable design that supports one-handed use. It integrates Galaxy AI with an edge-to-edge FlexWindow and includes a dual rear camera system with a 50MP main camera and a 12MP ultra-wide lens. Additional features include daily summary tools, photo editing options, and an on-device interpreter that enables real-time translation without an internet connection.
