Samsung and Nvidia have announced a major collaboration to build a new artificial intelligence (AI) megafactory that will transform Samsung’s global manufacturing operations through large-scale automation. The AI-driven facility will be powered by 50,000 Nvidia GPUs and will integrate cutting-edge AI technologies across Samsung’s semiconductor, smartphone, and robotics production lines.
In a statement, the South Korean technology major said it has partnered with Nvidia to deploy a massive GPU cluster that will power its manufacturing transformation. The AI-based automation system will enhance processes such as chipset fabrication, smartphone design, and advanced robotics development.
The centrepiece of the partnership is the AI megafactory itself. “Samsung’s AI Factory will integrate every aspect of semiconductor manufacturing, from design and process to equipment, operations and quality control, into a single intelligent network, where AI continuously analyses, predicts and optimises production environments in real time,” the company said.
Although neither company disclosed the location or completion timeline of the new AI megafactory, it is expected to redefine the future of manufacturing. The facility will use AI to analyse large-scale data from chip design, production, and equipment operations, enabling an intelligent and adaptive manufacturing process that goes far beyond conventional automation.
This announcement marks a new chapter in a long-standing partnership between Samsung and Nvidia. The two technology leaders have collaborated for over 25 years, beginning when Nvidia’s early GPUs powered Samsung’s Dynamic RAM (DRAM) products. Their partnership has since extended to Samsung’s chip foundry business, where Nvidia relies on the company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities.
Nvidia’s collaboration with Samsung is one of several strategic partnerships it has formed recently, as the chipmaker continues to expand its presence in AI-driven industries. Nvidia, which recently reached $5 trillion in revenue, has also joined hands with global players such as Microsoft, Intel, Nokia, and OpenAI to strengthen its foothold in AI innovation and infrastructure.
This latest venture is set to position Samsung at the forefront of intelligent manufacturing while reinforcing Nvidia’s dominance in the global AI ecosystem.
