Tata Digital has appointed Sajith Sivanandan as its new chief executive officer, effective 1 September 2025. The announcement was shared in an internal company email, with details also reported by a common news platform.
Sivanandan, a former Google executive and most recently president of Jio Mobile Digital Services, succeeds Naveen Tahilyani, who stepped down in May 2025 after about 15 months as CEO. His exit marked the third leadership change at Tata Digital in less than two years.
In the interim, operations were managed by a six member Management Council that reported directly to Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran. The latest appointment is seen as a key step to stabilise the company’s leadership and sharpen its strategy in a highly competitive e commerce market.
Sivanandan brings nearly three decades of experience across major technology and consumer businesses. At Google, he spent over 15 years leading Google Pay and the Next Billion Users initiatives in India and the Asia Pacific region. Sivanandan later served as CEO of Disney+ Hotstar for more than two years, overseeing content, engineering, product and monetisation. Earlier this year, he took charge at Jio Mobile Digital Services, focusing on AI driven digital offerings.
