The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), a prominent Indian steel producer, has officially inaugurated its first international office in Dubai. This landmark move marks a significant stride in SAIL’s strategy for global expansion, aiming to substantially enhance its international footprint and bolster India’s steel exports.
The Dubai office is strategically positioned to act as a crucial gateway to the dynamic Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. This strategic location will enable SAIL to tap into emerging markets, cultivate new business opportunities, and strengthen existing regional ties.
This international expansion aligns seamlessly with India’s broader national objective of increasing the global presence of its steel sector. It also supports the ambitious target of achieving a domestic steel production capacity of 300 million tonnes by 2030.
Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy underscored the strategic importance of this initiative, emphasizing its role in fortifying India’s public sector units. He further highlighted that the opening of the Dubai office signifies a new chapter in the strengthening relationship between India and Dubai.
