Sahamati Labs, the innovation arm of the Account Aggregator industry alliance, has partnered with Google Cloud India to integrate artificial intelligence into the Account Aggregator framework. Together, they have launched an AI Centre of Excellence aimed at creating a global benchmark for financial inclusion. The collaboration focuses on scaling access through Indic language tools, building stronger fraud and identity safeguards, and making financial services faster and more affordable.
Sashikumar Sreedharan, managing director of Google Cloud India, said, “At Google Cloud, we believe technology should be inclusive. By bringing our AI into India’s Account Aggregator framework, we are helping make financial services safer, more accessible, creating a model that can inspire financial ecosystems worldwide.”
The initiative will use generative AI to develop predictive insights, personalised recommendations, and fraud detection systems, while also relying on privacy-preserving technologies to protect sensitive financial data.
B.G. Mahesh, chief executive of Sahamati, highlighted the importance of the collaboration, stating, “Its success depends on trust, inclusion, and innovation. By embedding AI at its core with Google Cloud, we are setting the stage for India to once again define a new global benchmark, this time for financial inclusion at scale.”
The Account Aggregator framework currently supports consent-based data sharing for more than 2.12 billion accounts. With this partnership, Sahamati and Google Cloud India aim to ensure that every citizen, regardless of language, literacy, or location, can benefit from the digital economy.
