Rolls-Royce Inaugurates Largest Global Capability Centre in Bengaluru

Rolls-Royce, a world leader in power systems specialising in aerospace and defence engines, has officially opened its largest and most advanced global capability and innovation centre in Bengaluru. The 700-seater facility, located at Manyata Embassy Business Park, was inaugurated by Karnataka Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil on Tuesday.

Speaking at the event, Patil said, “The talented team in Bengaluru will now be powering Rolls-Royce’s global businesses. Initiatives like this have helped Bengaluru emerge as one of the top three cities globally for aerospace investment. Rolls-Royce has been contributing to the state’s aerospace industry from the very beginning, and this new GCC marks another milestone.”

The new centre reinforces Rolls-Royce’s commitment to India, where it employs more than 3,000 people. Of these, over 2,000 highly skilled engineers are based in Karnataka, contributing both directly within the organisation and through its ecosystem of partnerships.

Highlighting Karnataka’s role as India’s aerospace and defence hub, Patil noted that the state is home to a wide network of global and domestic players. These include Aequs, Collins Aerospace, Wipro, Mahindra Aerospace, Boeing, Airbus, and Pixxel, all of which contribute across the value chain from propulsion and power systems to advanced technologies and final manufacturing.

Patil further emphasised that aerospace continues to be a driving force in Karnataka’s manufacturing economy. “Our aerospace and defence policy is investor-friendly and provides attractive incentives. Here, research institutions, global companies, and home-grown startups collaborate to advance technology and manufacturing. The strong research culture in the state further complements and strengthens this ecosystem,” he said.

He also reiterated the Government’s commitment to building an enabling environment for global investors. According to him, forward-looking policies, infrastructure development, and ease-of-doing-business measures have positioned Karnataka as a trusted partner for developing technologies of international significance.
