Rokid AI Glasses Announced on Kickstarter as New AR Wearable

Rokid AI Glasses were introduced as a Kickstarter project on Wednesday. The artificial intelligence powered wearable is being positioned as a rival to the Ray Ban Meta Glasses in the augmented reality space. The device is fitted with dual eye displays that allow users to view navigation directions and translations in real time. It also includes a 12 megapixel camera and an inbuilt AI assistant. According to the company, the glasses can be customised with prescription lenses.

Rokid AI Glasses Price and Availability
The Rokid AI Glasses are priced at 599 US dollars, approximately 52,500 rupees. Early backers on Kickstarter can purchase the glasses at a discounted rate of 479 US dollars, roughly 42,000 rupees, as part of the special launch offer. Additionally, the company is offering a complimentary charging case worth 99 US dollars, around 8,700 rupees, for those who contribute to the first one million US dollars of the campaign. Shipments of the glasses are scheduled to begin in November, as stated by the company.

Rokid AI Glasses Features and Specifications
The glasses are designed for technology enthusiasts, travellers, content creators, and language learners. The company has stated that the product can be used by anyone who wishes to “integrate AI, visual communication, and entertainment seamlessly into daily life.” Consumers have the option to fit prescription lenses for myopia or astigmatism at local optical shops or purchase them through Rokid’s partnered lens providers.

The smart glasses feature dual eye micro LED displays with peak brightness up to 1,500 nits, a 10 level dimming system, and a 23 degree field of view. They support AI navigation, real time translation with live subtitles, AI assistant text output, application notifications, and phone call reminders. The displays can also serve as a teleprompter during presentations.

The device runs on a dual chip architecture powered by Qualcomm AR1 and NXP RT600 chipsets, delivering an AR experience enhanced by AI. As per the company, the glasses operate on OpenAI’s GPT 5 model.

The Rokid AI Glasses also allow users to record videos, similar to the Ray Ban Meta Glasses. A single 12 megapixel camera enables hands free photos and point of view videos. Video recording can be set for one, three, or ten minutes, with adjustments managed through the Hi Rokid companion application. An indicator light flashes to notify others when recording begins, ensuring privacy.

The glasses employ Rokid’s proprietary large language model to support live translation in up to 89 languages. Features include live subtitles and optional voice playback. Additional functions include hands free calling and music playback through built in speakers.

For sound quality, the device is equipped with four microphones designed to reduce ambient noise and focus on the user’s voice. While playing music, augmented reality lyrics appear on the display for a karaoke style experience. The glasses are IPX4 rated for water resistance and weigh 49 grams.

Battery performance is supported by a 210 mAh cell, which can deliver up to 45 minutes of continuous video recording and up to six hours of music playback. An optional case with a 3,000 mAh battery is also available, capable of charging the glasses more than 10 times.
