Reserve Bank Innovation Hub welcomes Mujiruddin Shaikh as Chief Technology Officer

In this role, Mujir will lead data and engineering functions with a focus on building interoperable, population-scale digital public infrastructure. His appointment supports RBIH’s mission to create inclusive and secure digital financial systems across India.

Mujir brings over 27 years of global experience in building large-scale systems and driving digital transformation across banking, retail, and healthcare sectors.

Before joining RBIH, he served as CTO – Accelerate Division at Thoughtworks. In that role, he helped scale the company’s India and Middle East operations and strengthened enterprise-level engineering and delivery capabilities.

At RBIH, Mujir will guide the development of key platforms such as ULI, MuleHunter.ai, and DPIP. These initiatives aim to expand access to credit, enable shared fraud intelligence, and build stronger trust across the financial ecosystem.

His responsibilities also include identifying system-level friction points at an early stage, leading technical experiments, and developing future-ready solutions to address complex challenges in India’s digital finance space.

The organisation said his appointment reflects a strong focus on deep technology leadership to drive innovation, resilience, and inclusive growth at a national level.

A business publication welcomed Mujiruddin Shaikh and wished him success as he takes charge of RBIH’s technology and engineering roadmap.
