Outlining an ambitious roadmap for growth, Reliance Industries Limited Chairman Mukesh Ambani has pledged an investment of ₹7 lakh crore in Gujarat over the next 5 years.
Speaking at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference for Kutch and Saurashtra, Ambani said the planned investment would double Reliance’s previous outlay of ₹3.5 lakh crore made since 2021. The event was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the presence of senior state leadership.
“In the last 5 years, we have invested over ₹3.5 lakh crores. Today, I am pleased to announce that we will double this to ₹7 lakh crores over the next 5 years,” Ambani said.
Among the key commitments, Ambani announced that Reliance is building India’s largest AI-ready data centre in Jamnagar to provide affordable AI services. He said Jio will launch a people-first intelligence platform to enable citizens to access AI services in their own language and on their own devices.
He also outlined plans to expand Reliance’s clean energy ecosystem in Jamnagar, with the aim of making the city a major exporter of green energy and materials. Ambani added that Kutch will be developed as a global clean energy hub. Under its social initiatives, the Reliance Foundation will support preparations for hosting the 2036 Olympics in Ahmedabad.
“We all know that the world is changing very fast… What is reassuring for India is that these challenges cannot touch or trouble our people,” Ambani said.
The conference is expected to see over 1,500 MoUs, with participation from more than 110 international buyers from 16 countries.
