Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), the FMCG arm of Reliance Industries led by Mukesh Ambani, will invest over ₹1,500 crore to establish an integrated food and beverages facility in Katol, Nagpur district. The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government, which will facilitate necessary approvals, clearances, and incentives for the project.
According to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who shared the update on social media, the new plant is expected to generate more than 500 direct jobs. Manufacturing operations at the facility are scheduled to begin in 2026.
RCPL’s Growth Path
RCPL has rapidly emerged as one of the fastest-growing FMCG companies in India. Originally part of Reliance Retail, it was demerged to become a direct subsidiary of Reliance Industries and has already crossed ₹11,000 crore in revenue within just three years.
At Reliance’s annual general meeting last month, the company announced plans to invest ₹40,000 crore to build Asia’s largest integrated food parks powered by AI, automation, robotics, and sustainable technologies.
Isha Ambani on Future Ambitions
RIL Director Isha Ambani described RCPL as one of the group’s “growth engines,” stating that the FMCG business aims to achieve ₹1 lakh crore in revenue within five years while also establishing a global footprint.
“Our long-term ambition is to become India’s largest FMCG company with a global presence. This will make RCPL a big new value-creating engine for Reliance Group, comparable to our Retail business in size and profitability,” Isha Ambani said at the AGM.
RCPL is also laying the foundation for expansion into apparel, electronics, and other consumer categories. Over the past three years, it has aggressively scaled its portfolio, acquiring brands such as Tagz Foods and reviving legacy names like Campa and Ravalgaon, alongside launching in-house labels like Independence, Alan’s, and Enzo.
By diversifying its portfolio and investing heavily in modern manufacturing, RCPL is positioning itself to be a dominant player in India’s fast-evolving consumer market.
