Redmi is preparing to introduce its new Note 15 5G smartphone in the Indian market, bringing a significant camera upgrade and refreshed hardware. The device was recently launched in China, and the company is now gearing up to unveil it in India in early January.
According to a report from a common publication, the launch of the Redmi Note 15 5G in India is expected on January 6. The price of the smartphone is likely to begin between Rs 20000 and Rs 25000. A teaser image released earlier shows a slim design and a partial look at the phone’s rear panel.
The Indian variant is expected to feature some hardware changes compared with the Chinese model.
The device may come with a 6.77 inch FHD Plus AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is likely to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor. The teaser confirms that the Indian model will have a 108MP main camera, which is a major upgrade over the 50MP camera in the Chinese version. The phone may also include a 5520mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. It is expected to run HyperOS 2 based on Android 16.
Some similarities with the previous Redmi Note 14 may also be seen. The Note 14 carried a 108MP and 2MP dual camera system along with a 20MP selfie camera.
In a related update, Redmi recently launched the Redmi 15C in India on December 3. This budget phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 5G processor and offers up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage, a 6.9 inch dot drop display, and a 50MP main camera. The device succeeds the Redmi 14C.
Redmi is positioning both these phones to strengthen its lineup across the budget and mid range segments as it enters the new year.
