Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G India launch set for early January 2026

Xiaomi is preparing to expand its tablet lineup in India with the launch of the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G, which is scheduled to arrive in the first week of January 2026.

The Xiaomi sub brand has been teasing key details of the upcoming tablet through a dedicated microsite on its India website. The latest update confirms information about the chipset, dimensions, and several hardware features. The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will feature a 12.1 inch Quad HD+ display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support.

According to details shared on the microsite, the tablet will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. Xiaomi has also indicated that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will be priced between Rs. 20,000 and Rs. 30,000 in India. The device will include a quad speaker setup with Dolby Atmos and support a volume boost feature.

Tipster Abhishek Yadav claims that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro price in India will start at Rs. 25,000 for the base variant with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and Wi Fi connectivity. The 5G variants are expected to launch in 8GB plus 128GB and 8GB plus 256GB options, priced at Rs. 28,000 and Rs. 30,000 respectively. The tablet is said to go on sale in India on January 12, 2026.

Xiaomi has also confirmed that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will come with a metal unibody design. The tablet will measure 7.5mm in thickness and weigh around 610g. The company has already announced that the India launch will take place on January 6, 2026.

The tablet will pack a 12,000mAh battery, which Xiaomi claims is the “world’s largest” for a tablet with a 12.1 inch display. After launch, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will be available for purchase through the Xiaomi India online store.

The global variant, which launched in select European markets in September, features an Adreno 810 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage, expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD card. It also includes an 8 megapixel rear camera, an 8 megapixel front camera, and support for 33W wired fast charging.
