Razer introduces Project Ava, a holographic AI companion for gamers at CES 2026

Razer has entered the artificial intelligence device space with the launch of Project Ava at CES 2026. The California based gaming hardware and software company described the new product as an AI powered holographic desktop companion designed mainly for gamers. The company said the device aims to bridge the gap between virtual assistance and physical interaction. Its main feature is a small 3D digital avatar that responds and interacts with users in real time.

In a post on X, Razer called Project Ava an “all in one AI companion.” The device combines a voice based AI chatbot with a holographic display, offering a more personal and visual experience. Razer described it as a “digital partner that lives right alongside the user,” blending the intelligence of AI with the presence of a physical avatar.

The cylindrical device has clear glass like walls. When turned on, a 5.5 inch digital avatar appears inside. Users can choose from six gaming and anime inspired avatars. Ava is shown as a glowing energy ball with a calm nature. Kira is a friendly anime character. Zane is built as a gaming wingman. Faker is an esports focused personality. Sao is inspired by South Korean pop culture.

Project Ava comes with a dual far field microphone system, an HD camera with an ambient light sensor, speakers, customisable LED lighting, RGB effects, and a USB C port for power and data. Razer said the AI features are powered by xAI Grok and can handle most of the tasks supported by the chatbot.

According to the company website, the device can help with daily routines such as managing schedules, suggesting outfits, deciding meals, tracking habits, and offering reminders for self care. However, its main focus remains gaming.

Designed for Windows users, Project Ava connects to a PC using a USB C cable. This allows the device to analyse what appears on the screen with very low delay and offer real time support.

Razer has opened reservations for Project Ava at 20 dollars. Shipping is expected to begin in the second half of 2026. The company has not yet shared the final price or whether a subscription will be required.
