Ram Madhav Highlights Role of Technology and Innovation in Shaping India’s Global Future

Senior RSS leader Ram Madhav has underlined the critical role of technology and innovation in shaping India’s journey towards becoming a global power by 2047. Speaking at the launch of his latest book The New World: 21st-Century Global Order and India in the state capital on Tuesday evening, Madhav highlighted the shifting global landscape, challenges from demographic and climate change, and India’s emerging influence in the balance of global power.

The book was unveiled by Prof MP Gupta, director of IIM Lucknow. Addressing the audience, Madhav said, “Artificial intelligence (AI) is crossing all boundaries today. Technology is overtaking the existence of humans. It will play a major role in the overall development and progress of a nation.”

He raised concerns over whether India is keeping pace with technological advances and urged for stronger efforts in research and development. Emphasising the need for ground-level work, he said, “For India to become a Vishwa Guru, we need more R&D. However, carrying it out is not the sole responsibility of the government. We need to work on the ground. The R&D is the need of the hour.”

He further stated that while the central government is taking significant steps to support R&D, private companies must also step up. He pointed out that some companies with market capitalisation of several lakh crores spend only a few thousand crores on research.

Referring to the recent India-Pakistan conflict, he said, “In this war, soldiers from both the sides never saw one another. The entire war was driven by technology.” This, he said, highlighted the growing impact of tech-driven warfare and its role in modern security.

Commenting on the global trend of nationalism, Madhav noted that the style of leadership introduced by former US President Donald Trump will become the new normal. “Now, every country will try to protect its interests first. India has to be ready for this change,” he said, referring to Trump’s slogan MAGA (Make America Great Again) and similar stances taken by European nations on refugee policies.

He also praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s move to upgrade Industrial Training Institutes across the state by involving industry major Tata.
