In his expanded responsibility, Dr. Chhajwani will oversee growth and P and L for cash management services, point of sale solutions, and receivables and payables management. He will work closely with teams across product, sales, technology, and risk to build scalable merchant solutions, deepen client partnerships, and enhance unit economics across digital commerce platforms.
Dr. Chhajwani brings nearly 2 decades of experience at Kotak Mahindra Bank, where he has played a consistent role in driving transformation across transaction banking and digital payments. Over the years, he has contributed to strengthening platforms, improving operational efficiency, and supporting the bank’s broader digital ambitions.
Before his current role, Dr. Chhajwani held leadership positions at HDFC Bank, gaining exposure to key aspects of banking operations and client engagement. He also has a strong sales background from his time at Asian Paints, along with early professional experience at Gujarat Gas Limited. This diverse career path has given him a balanced understanding of financial services, product development, and customer focused growth strategies.
The appointment reflects Kotak Mahindra Bank’s focus on strengthening leadership across its payments and transaction banking businesses as digital commerce continues to expand. With his deep institutional knowledge and cross-sector experience, Dr. Chhajwani is expected to play a central role in scaling merchant offerings and supporting sustainable growth across CMS POS and RPM segments.
