Azure Power Global Limited, a leading sustainable energy solutions provider and renewable power producer in India, has announced the appointment of Rajat Gupta as Chief Financial Officer, effective 1 September 2025. He takes over the role from Sugata Sircar.
Mr. Sircar will hand over responsibilities during September and from 1 October 2025, he will assume a non-executive role as Advisor to the Chief Executive Officer. In this position, he will support companywide initiatives to make Azure more agile and efficient for its next phase of growth.
Rajat Gupta brings over 30 years of experience in finance, compliance, mergers and acquisitions, project development, and strategic investments. Gupta has successfully led capital-raising initiatives, driven business transformation, and delivered operational excellence, with his core expertise in the infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
Before joining Azure, Gupta served as Chief Financial Officer at Essar Power. He has also held CFO positions at Avaada Energy, Sprng Energy, and Ostro Energy, where he played a key role in building and selling renewable platforms at significant valuations. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he is an alumnus of Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi.
