Rajasthan Cops Unravel Rs 1000 Crore Forex Scam

Rajasthan: Officials in Sri Ganganagar have uncovered a significant financial scam amounting to Rs 1,000 crore, allegedly masterminded by a young individual involved in fraudulent forex trading. This discovery followed a complaint from a victim who reported losing Rs 4.5 crore to someone promising high returns through forex investments.

SP Gaurav Yadav stated that the police initiated an investigation based on the complaint and tracked the accused’s mobile number. Further inquiries revealed that this number was associated with several cyber fraud cases, with approximately five complaints filed against it on the PRATIBIMB portal from various states, mainly Karnataka.

Yadav stated that the scam was more extensive than first thought.”When we looked into the first complaint, we found that funds had been transferred into around 75 different bank accounts,” he said.

“Upon further analysis, we found that the first bank account alone had 76,000 complaints corresponding to it.”

The police investigation revealed that the first layer of fraudulent transactions involved a staggering Rs 1,000 crore. Yadav stated, “This initial investigation has uncovered a scam of Rs 1,000 crore. It is possible that, as the investigation deepens, we could uncover a much larger-scale fraud.”

Officials are currently trying to locate the suspects and trace the money trail across multiple states.
