Rahul Tewari joins Upstox as Chief Financial Officer

In his new role, Rahul Tewari will lead Upstox’s overall financial strategy, including capital allocation, governance, and long-term value creation. His appointment comes at a key phase when the company is sharpening its focus on product innovation, regulatory strength, and sustainable growth while catering to a rapidly expanding base of retail investors.

Before joining Upstox, Rahul served as Chief Financial Officer at DAMAC Digital. There, he played a key role in executing a US$20 billion investment program aimed at building AI infrastructure capacity across Europe, Asia, and North America. His work included developing scalable data-center platforms, managing governance for AI joint ventures, and collaborating with acquisition, investment, and operations teams to deliver value across the full infrastructure lifecycle.

Earlier, Rahul spent over 5 years as Chief Financial Officer at Games24x7, India’s leading multi-gaming unicorn. During this period, the platform scaled nearly 4-fold, diversified its business model, strengthened governance frameworks, and raised significant growth capital. Alongside this role, he worked with Games24x7 Ventures as an investment professional and served as a Board Observer at CricHeroes, gaining hands-on exposure to early-stage ventures and consumer internet businesses.

Prior to that, Rahul Tewari was Chief Financial Officer at Quikr, where he led operational transformation, executed strategic acquisitions, raised capital, and guided the business toward a transaction-led O2O model. He has also held senior investment banking roles as Executive Vice President and Head – Technology Investment Banking at ICICI Securities, and earlier worked with Bank of America and RBC Capital Markets. In these roles, he advised on IPOs, M&A, private equity, and cross-border transactions across the technology, media, and internet sectors.

He began his career in infrastructure and project finance with KPMG and IFCI, before moving into global investment banking and corporate development roles, including a stint at Avaya. Across his career, Rahul Tewari has built strong expertise in capital markets, M&A, fundraising, corporate strategy, and financial leadership in high-growth, technology-driven businesses.
