Rahul Kapoor Begins New Chapter at The Trade Desk as VP – Partnerships, India

In a notable career shift that echoes both legacy and fresh ambition, Rahul Kapoor has officially stepped away from his long-standing journey with Google India and taken on a new role as Vice-President of Partnerships, India at The Trade Desk. After dedicating nearly 15 years to Google, Kapoor has now embraced this fresh challenge, making the announcement public through a heartfelt note on his LinkedIn profile.

“Thrilled to share that I’ve joined The Trade Desk as Vice-President of Partnerships, India! After more than 25 years in media, ad tech, and strategic alliances, I’m excited to bring all those experiences into a role that’s focused on shaping the future of programmatic in India, where privacy, premium audiences, and meaningful partnerships take center stage.

As Tejinder Gill often says, ‘we are building bridges, not tunnels’, and that couldn’t be more true, especially as India’s digital advertising market continues to grow at a phenomenal pace. With this principle at heart, I’ll be focused on forging high-impact, scalable partnerships that provide real value for advertisers and publishers – driving collaboration, expanding choice, and upholding transparency and efficiency as we help shape a thriving open internet in India. Can’t wait to get started with this amazing team.”

During his extensive tenure at Google, Kapoor last served as Director of Partnership Solutions, having previously led as Head of Strategic Solutions. He initially joined the tech powerhouse back in 2013 as a Strategic Partner Manager, contributing significantly to the growth of its Indian digital ecosystem.

Before his time at Google, Kapoor brought his expertise to the forefront with roles at Yahoo!, where he functioned as Chief Manager and earlier as Sales Manager for Yahoo! Web Services, giving him a strong foundation in tech-driven digital growth and partnership strategy.

Kapoor’s new role at The Trade Desk comes at a time when India’s digital advertising landscape is undergoing rapid transformation — and his experience will no doubt serve as a catalyst for meaningful change. As the programmatic space shifts towards privacy-first innovation and transparent collaboration, Kapoor’s leadership will likely shape how publishers and advertisers engage in this dynamic ecosystem.
