Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 with improved performance and advanced features

US chipmaker Qualcomm has launched its latest mid-range mobile platform, the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. Built on a 4nm process, the chip offers enhanced CPU and GPU performance, and supports 200MP photos and high-resolution video. Qualcomm says the new platform is designed to deliver faster performance, smoother gaming, and better photography.

Compared to the previous generation Snapdragon 6-series, Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 delivers up to 36 per cent higher CPU performance and 59 per cent faster GPU performance. Users can expect quicker app launches, seamless multitasking, and more responsive overall performance. Gaming performance is also improved with support for up to 144 FPS at FHD+ resolution, enhanced graphics via Variable Rate Shading, and lower touch latency using Qualcomm Game Quick Touch.

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 brings several new features:

  • High-resolution capture: Support for 200MP photos and high-resolution video with Multi-Frame Noise Reduction to produce sharp and detailed images even in low light.

  • Enhanced gaming: Snapdragon Elite Gaming features combined with Variable Rate Shading for better graphics and Game Quick Touch for reduced latency.

  • Connectivity: The Qualcomm 5G Modem-RF System supports Release 16 5G. FastConnect delivers Wi-Fi 6 and 6E connectivity with speeds up to 2.9 Gbps.

  • Audio and media: Snapdragon Sound technology improves audio quality across devices.

Qualcomm has not officially confirmed which smartphones will feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4. However, reports suggest the chip will appear in mid-range devices from global brands. Brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, and Motorola are expected to launch models with the new chip in the near future.

The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 marks Qualcomm’s continued focus on delivering high performance and advanced features for mid-range smartphones, improving user experience across gaming, photography, and connectivity.
