Bengaluru-based quantum startup QpiAI has forged a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Dharwad and L&T Cloudfiniti. The collaboration, facilitated by the Karnataka government at the Quantum India Bengaluru 2025 summit, aims to accelerate the country’s quantum technology ecosystem.
This collaboration is aligned with the objectives of India’s National Quantum Mission. It aims to combine QpiAI’s advanced quantum hardware with large-scale cloud infrastructure to run quantum algorithms across key industries, including finance, healthcare and logistics.
QpiAI is the developer of Indus, a 25 qubit quantum computer, and is currently working on a 256 qubit system. The company also has plans for a fault tolerant machine that will feature 100 logical qubits. These systems are being designed to support large-scale commercial use cases.
As part of this partnership, both companies will initiate joint research and development programmes. These will focus on integrating artificial intelligence with quantum computing to solve complex challenges in multiple domains.
A senior executive from the infrastructure company said, “We are thrilled to partner with QpiAI to drive quantum computing workloads globally. This collaboration will leverage our cloud infrastructure to host and execute quantum algorithms, enabling scalable deployment of quantum solutions across domains. Together, we aim to deliver innovative and efficient solutions to our customers and enhance operational efficiency.”
Dr Nagendra Nagaraja, CEO of QpiAI, said, “The collaboration with the cloud partner marks a significant milestone in the advancement of quantum computing technology. By combining our technical expertise with their industry leadership, we are poised to drive innovation and deliver cutting edge solutions to our customers. We are excited about the opportunities this partnership will bring under India’s National Quantum Mission.”
This partnership represents a key step in strengthening India’s quantum technology ecosystem and underlines the increasing momentum in building integrated AI and quantum infrastructure for practical applications.
