A new on demand household services platform called Pronto is reshaping how urban families access daily help by offering trained professionals for tasks like cleaning, laundry, dish washing and meal preparation with a quick 10 minute arrival promise. The idea emerged in 2024 when founder Anjali Sardana noticed that while many services in India were becoming instant, reliable household help was still difficult to find. Customers struggled with inconsistent workers and long search processes, even though many household workers faced months of unemployment each year.
Founded in Gurugram in April 2024, Pronto connects customers to trained professionals known as Pros through an app. The platform offers 14 services priced by time slots of 30 minutes, one hour or 90 minutes, with average order values between Rs 200 and Rs 300. Customers can track Pros live, add services during a booking or schedule recurring daily or weekly appointments. Pronto operates on a shift based model that ensures quick fulfilment and stable income for workers. The platform competes with Snabbit and the instant services vertical of a larger on demand company.
Pronto follows a rigorous vetting process beginning with an in person screening. Sardana says only about 50 out of every 300 applicants pass the initial screening. Selected candidates complete a five day training programme that covers hard skills across all 14 services, soft skills, hygiene, grooming, tech usage, e bike riding and platform processes. Background checks are completed alongside training and Pros must pass a final exam and get a Police Clearance Certificate before being assigned to a hub.
Workers are paid per shift and can earn up to Rs 40000 a month. Pronto has onboarded about 1000 professionals and provides health insurance with plans for education and childcare benefits. Regular refresher training and safety protocols are part of the system and workers can leave a site immediately if they feel unsafe. The platform operates on a three layer technology stack with location based polygons defining a 10 minute service radius. This model has attracted investor interest and Pronto has raised $13 million across two rounds including a $2 million seed round in early 2025 and an $11 million Series A round in August 2025.
The company operates in Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune and is expanding coverage, building micro hubs and strengthening operational technology. Since launching publicly in May 2025 Pronto has grown 50 times and now handles four figure daily bookings. Over the next two years it plans to expand into tier one, two and three cities and add new service categories.
Sardana also sees an opportunity to organise India’s informal labour market through B2B solutions across sectors like retail, construction and manufacturing. She says customer feedback, especially from working mothers, shows how reliable help can reduce daily stress and improve quality of life.
