A respected academic leader, researcher, and administrator, Prof. Kapoor brings more than three decades of experience across institutions in India, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Prof. Kapoor is an alumnus of IIT BHU and holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He is globally recognised for his work in engineering, higher education leadership, and institutional development. He has authored over 325 research papers, three books, and holds several patents. His research impact places him among the top 2 percent of scientists worldwide as per the Stanford Elsevier ranking and among the top 0.21 percent globally according to the AD Scientific Index.
He has served in key leadership roles including Vice Chancellor of Chinmaya Vishwa Vidyapeeth and Pro Vice Chancellor at Swinburne University of Technology in Australia. He has also been associated with leading universities in Newcastle, Sheffield, and Leicester in the United Kingdom. Additionally, he continues to contribute to the academic community as a member of the editorial board of the IMechE Journal of Rail and Rapid Transit.
Prof. Kapoor has received international recognition for his contributions to mechanical engineering. He has twice been honored with the Sir George Julius Award and the TA Stewart Dyer FH Trevethick Award from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers in the United Kingdom. His leadership has focused on building strong international partnerships, industry collaborations, and innovation led education.
