Prashant Kumar Joins Zelestra India as Chief Financial Officer

Zelestra India, a subsidiary of Spain-based renewable energy giant Zelestra, has officially named Prashant Kumar as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective immediately. His appointment comes at a time when the company is experiencing remarkable momentum in its mission to power a sustainable future.

In his new role, Kumar will report directly to CEO Sajay K V and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s financial strategy, enhancing governance frameworks, and driving capital efficiency to support business growth across the country.

“The company is growing every day. We now have a pipeline of wind, solar and BESS technology of over 5 GW in total, with three major projects in construction this year. This accelerated growth means we need a top senior leadership team to ensure we rise to all of the challenges ahead. Therefore we welcome Prashant to Zelestra India team,” shared Sajay.

Kumar brings over 20 years of seasoned expertise in financial operations, project finance, capital fundraising, and fund management. He holds a post-graduate degree in Management from the prestigious Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB).

His professional journey spans leadership roles in key energy and finance organizations, including Fortum India Private Limited, Tata Power Solar, Lanco Solar, and IndusInd Bank. His deep-rooted understanding of high-growth, capital-intensive sectors aligns seamlessly with Zelestra’s forward-looking ambitions.

Zelestra India continues to emerge as a significant player in the renewable energy space, managing the development, construction, and operation of large-scale solar, wind, and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. With more than 5 GW in the pipeline and a strong focus on clean energy innovation, the firm is building a future-ready leadership team to steer the ship toward excellence.

This move marks yet another step in fortifying Zelestra’s long-term vision for sustainable energy solutions across India.
