Hyderabad-based startup Pradhi AI Solutions Private Limited is making strides in voice-driven and emotionally intelligent artificial intelligence platforms. CEO and co-founder Vijayalakshmi Raghavan explained that Pradhi AI began by translating mathematical concepts such as multigraphs into predictive models before moving to advanced layered systems.
These systems are now capable of extracting more than a hundred voice-based measures and offering enterprises actionable insights. “Our work is laying the groundwork to get there,” Raghavan said, noting that Pradhi AI’s aim is to bring intelligence into real conversations instead of limiting it to surface-level sentiment analysis.
Pradhi AI is working with IIT Delhi on research in prosody, which studies the rhythm, stress and intonation of speech. This work focuses on capturing subtle cues such as hesitation and tension. “A human can distinguish the difference between a flat ‘okay’ and an enthusiastic ‘okay!’, but a large language model can’t,” Raghavan explained. This research is designed to create bots that can respond with empathy, taking artificial intelligence beyond basic semantic understanding.
Pradhi AI is also addressing one of India’s most complex technology challenges: multilingual voice AI. With limited digital datasets available for Indian languages, the startup has developed a hybrid approach. It combines augmented models, heuristics, and human-in-the-loop systems to improve outcomes.
“Achieving the 98 to 99 per cent accuracy levels for Indian languages will take time,” Raghavan acknowledged, while stressing the need for embedding-level improvements and larger datasets to move closer to that goal.
