A significant development in India’s retirement planning ecosystem sees PPFAS Asset Management expand its role in managing long-term investor wealth.
PPFAS Asset Management has received approval from the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority to become a sponsor for a pension fund under the National Pension System. The company will soon begin managing retirement savings for investors participating in the NPS.
As part of this move, PPFAS will establish a separate pension fund entity to operate schemes and manage long-term investments. The company will complete necessary formalities, including registration and operational setup, before starting full-scale operations.
“We are honoured to receive this approval from PFRDA. Managing retirement savings is a significant responsibility, and we are committed to handling it with care, discipline, and a long-term approach. Our focus will remain on safeguarding investors’ interests while delivering consistent performance,” said Neil Parag Parikh.
The development is expected to strengthen the company’s position in India’s financial ecosystem while supporting the growth of structured retirement planning solutions.
Based in Mumbai, PPFAS Asset Management was established in 2011 and is part of the PPFAS group. It is promoted by Parag Parikh Financial Advisory Services Ltd., a firm founded in 1992 with a strong presence in the financial services sector.
The move reflects increasing opportunities in India’s pension and retirement segment as more investors turn to long-term wealth creation through regulated platforms like NPS.
