Positron AI has secured $51.6 million in Series A funding to enhance its AI inference engine. The round was led by noted investors such as Intel Capital, Prosus Ventures, and Global Brain. Other participants included prominent firms like Athera Venture Partners, Entrepreneur First, and prominent angel investors.
Founded in 2022 by former engineers from companies like Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Intel, Positron AI is focused on building an advanced AI inference infrastructure that supports large-scale model deployment. The startup aims to optimise inference for large AI models, reducing latency and increasing efficiency. Its core mission is to make running AI models more cost effective and faster, especially for enterprises working with generative AI.
With the fresh funding, Positron AI plans to expand its engineering team and scale the deployment of its inference engine across key markets. The team believes their approach to software defined inference can solve growing compute bottlenecks many AI developers face today.
Positron AI also shared that its platform is already being tested with a number of early partners. These include large language model developers and enterprises looking to run AI models in real time without relying on expensive GPU infrastructure.
A spokesperson from the company said, “We are committed to building the next generation of AI inference tools that are efficient, flexible, and cost effective. Our goal is to empower developers and businesses to deploy AI at scale without compromising on performance.”
The Series A funding marks a significant milestone for Positron AI, positioning it as one of the few companies working to address the current limitations in AI infrastructure.
