Poco X8 Pro series tipped with MediaTek chipsets ahead of India launch

Fresh leaks are beginning to paint a clearer picture of Poco’s next smartphone lineup as signs point to an upcoming launch in India. The Poco X7 Pro 5G debuted in the country a year ago, and its successor, the Poco X8 Pro, has now been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards certification website, suggesting an imminent arrival.

Online reports indicate that the Poco X8 Pro series may include 2 models. The standard Poco X8 Pro is expected to feature a MediaTek Dimensity 8000 series chipset, while the rumoured Poco X8 Pro Max could arrive with a more powerful Dimensity 9000 series processor. At the same time, chipset details of the Oppo K15 Turbo and Oppo K15 Turbo Pro have also surfaced.

According to a post on X by tipster Sanju Choudhary, the Poco X8 Pro may be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset. The same processor is also tipped to be used in the standard Oppo K15 Turbo model. Meanwhile, the Poco X8 Pro Max and Oppo K15 Turbo Pro are said to launch with MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipsets, aligning with earlier leaks around the Oppo K15 Turbo Pro.

However, some reports have suggested that the Oppo K15 Turbo Pro could instead arrive with the new octa-core 3nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. With neither Poco nor Oppo confirming the details officially, the leaked information should be treated cautiously.

The Poco X8 Pro was recently listed on the BIS database with the model number 2511FPC34I, strengthening expectations of an India launch. The smartphone is reportedly expected to be priced above Rs. 30,000 in India. If accurate, this would place it higher than the Poco X7 Pro 5G, which launched at Rs. 27,999 for the 8GB + 256GB RAM and storage variant.

In terms of specifications, the Poco X8 Pro is tipped to feature a 6.67-inch 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. It may also carry an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. The handset is expected to house an 8,000mAh battery with support for 100W wired fast charging.

The Oppo K15 Turbo, on the other hand, is said to sport a 6.59-inch flat 1.5K LTPS display and include an in-built waterproof active cooling fan.
