Poco X8 Pro series leak reveals upgraded displays, powerful chips and bigger batteries

Fresh leaks suggest that the upcoming smartphone lineup may bring notable upgrades in display quality, performance, and battery capacity. The next-generation devices are expected to succeed the 2025 Poco X7 series and could launch soon in global markets.

According to a tipster, the Poco X8 Pro and X8 Pro Max are likely to feature 1.5K 120Hz OLED panels, improved durability ratings, and fast-charging support reaching up to 100W. The information was shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav through a post on X.

The Poco X8 Pro is tipped to include a 6.59-inch 1.5K TCL M10 OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness (HBM), and 3,840Hz PWM dimming. It may also offer an optical in-display fingerprint sensor and IP68 + IP69 + IP69K protection. The device is expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset from MediaTek, paired with a Mali-G720 MC8 GPU, LPDDR5x Ultra RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage. The phone could ship with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 and support Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, IR Blaster, and NFC connectivity.

For photography, the handset may feature a 50-megapixel Sony IMX882 main camera from Sony, alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 20-megapixel OV20B front camera. It is expected to pack a 6,500mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging and 27W reverse charging.

The Poco X8 Pro Max is said to come with a larger 6.83-inch display with identical refresh rate, brightness, and dimming capabilities. It may run on the Dimensity 9500s processor with an Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU and similar RAM and storage configuration.

Camera hardware could remain similar, but the main sensor may shift to Light Hunter 600 with OIS support. Additional features reportedly include dual stereo speakers, LHDC 5.0, a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The device is tipped to measure 8.15mm thick, weigh about 219g, and house an 8,500mAh battery with the same charging speeds as the Pro variant.
