Poco has confirmed that new M-series smartphones are coming to India, sparking excitement among fans. While the company has not revealed the names or specifications, leaks and certification listings have already hinted at key features. The upcoming devices are expected to target both Indian and global markets, though with slight differences in hardware.
Reports suggest that the new phones will be the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro. The M8 series has been circulating in rumours for weeks and both models are expected to launch soon. Poco’s teaser confirms the series’ arrival but does not reveal design or technical details. Past leaks indicate that the Poco M8 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 15 5G, while the Poco M8 Pro may be based on the Redmi Note 15 Pro+.
Camera specifications could vary by region. The Poco M8 Pro India variant is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary sensor, similar to the Chinese Redmi Note 15 Pro+. In comparison, the global Redmi Note 15 Pro+ reportedly offers a 200-megapixel main camera, suggesting market-specific differences. Certification filings show that the Poco M8 Pro has appeared on TDRA, IMEI, FCC and IMDA platforms, while the Poco M8 5G cleared BIS, NBTC, IMDA and TDRA, signalling an imminent launch.
Leaked renders show the Poco M8 and M8 Pro in black, blue and a dual-tone silver-and-black variant. Both phones appear to have squircle-shaped triple rear cameras, a hole-punch selfie camera and thick bezels. The power and volume buttons are on the right, with a USB Type-C port, speaker grille and microphone at the bottom. Poco is expected to reveal more details, including the official India launch date, in the coming days.
