The first Emerging Science and Technology Innovation Conclave 2025 will begin on Monday, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a ₹1 lakh crore fund aimed at strengthening research and development led by the private sector. The event is positioned as a major government platform that will take place every year to support advancements in science and technology.
The three day conclave will bring together more than 3000 participants from research institutions, universities, industries, government organisations and global innovation networks. Nobel laureates, leading scientists, innovators and senior policymakers are also expected to attend, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
At the event, the Prime Minister will formally introduce the Research Development and Innovation Scheme Fund worth ₹1 lakh crore. The objective of this initiative is to encourage strong private sector participation in R and D and to create an ecosystem that promotes innovation led growth.
The theme of the conclave is Imagine Innovate Inspire. The gathering aims to connect scientists, researchers, industry leaders, startups and academic institutions under a single framework to share ideas, identify opportunities and collaborate on solutions for national development.
Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh stated that the conclave will work as a platform to build partnerships and address gaps between policy, research and industrial application. He highlighted the need to align scientific progress with the country’s developmental goals.
The conclave will feature expert talks, panel discussions, presentations and technology exhibitions. These activities are expected to improve cooperation among research organisations, industries and young innovators while enhancing the national science and technology ecosystem.
Discussions will cover eleven priority areas including advanced materials and manufacturing, artificial intelligence, bio manufacturing, blue economy, digital communication, electronics and semiconductor production, agricultural technologies, energy, environment and climate, health and medical research, quantum science and space technology.
Meanwhile, preparations have also begun for the India International Science Festival which will be held at Panjab University in Chandigarh from December 6 to 9. Jitendra Singh said that the conclave festival will highlight achievements in science and technology across government ministries, industries, academic bodies and startups, reflecting the vision of a self-reliant India.
