Amid growing focus on artificial intelligence as a driver of national progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roundtable discussion with founders and CEOs of 16 AI and deeptech startups during the India AI Impact Summit 2026.
The interaction brought together leaders from startups operating across healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, space and social empowerment. Participants included Abridge, Adalat AI, BrainSightAI, Credo AI, eka.care, Glean, Innogle, Invideo, Miko, Origin, Prophaze, Rasen, Rubrik, SatSure, Supernova and Sypha AI.
The startups are working on ethical AI solutions and modernising legacy systems to improve productivity and efficiency. Discussions focused on how their products can scale to serve large populations across India.
Prime Minister Modi explored the potential of AI in agriculture and environmental protection. Conversations included the use of AI to monitor crop yield, track fertilizer usage and safeguard soil health.
He also underlined the importance of promoting Indic languages and leveraging AI to deliver higher education in regional languages. The Prime Minister stressed the need for strong data governance frameworks and cautioned against the risks of misinformation. He encouraged the development of AI solutions designed specifically for India’s unique needs.
The government aims to harness AI to address national challenges while carefully managing associated risks such as misinformation and misuse.
