Pixxel welcomes Ryan McKinney as Chief Revenue Officer

As it scales commercial adoption of its space-based data services, Pixxel has named Ryan McKinney as its new Chief Revenue Officer. He will lead revenue strategy and go-to-market execution as the company expands the use of its hyperspectral data and analytics across agriculture, energy, environment, and mining sectors.

Pixxel operates the world’s highest-resolution commercial hyperspectral imaging constellation. In his new role, McKinney will focus on accelerating enterprise growth, building strategic partnerships, and increasing market reach for advanced Earth observation solutions.

He brings wide experience in remote sensing, space-tech commercialisation, strategic initiatives, and high-growth business development. His background positions him to scale enterprise revenue and partnerships for next-generation geospatial intelligence platforms.

Before joining Pixxel, McKinney spent nearly 2 years at Umbra as Director – Remote Sensing, where he worked on advanced satellite sensing technologies and commercial remote sensing programmes. Prior to that, he spent over 2 years at Satellogic North America, serving as President and earlier as Vice President and General Manager. During this period, he led North America operations and strengthened commercial execution for Earth observation services.

Earlier, McKinney worked at Descartes Labs for about 3 years as Head of Strategic Initiatives, supporting growth at the intersection of geospatial analytics and decision intelligence. Before that, he spent nearly 3.5 years at Cyence, later acquired by Guidewire Software, in Business Development. There, he supported market expansion of a platform that measured the financial impact of cyber risk for the insurance industry.

McKinney also served as Director of Business Development and Sales Operations at Shadow Networks, later acquired by Acalvio, where he worked on cybersecurity solutions for enterprise and government networks. He spent over 4 years at Circadence as Director of Federal Sales, gaining strong experience in public sector and federal enterprise sales.

His earlier career includes business development roles at Enterasys Networks, Global Technology Resources, NetScout Systems, and Tech Data Corporation. These roles helped build his foundation in enterprise go-to-market strategy, channel sales, and long-term partnerships.
