Pioneer India has introduced its new Automotive 360° Surround View Camera System to the Indian market, announcing its first partnership with an original equipment manufacturer in the country. This marks the debut of Pioneer’s camera technology being adopted by an Indian automaker, with all development and manufacturing handled locally by Pioneer India.
Launched on July 15, 2025, the camera system gives drivers a bird’s-eye view of their vehicle surroundings using four HD or FHD wide-angle cameras. The technology uses advanced image stitching and low-latency video processing to deliver real-time visuals on in-car displays. It is designed to help improve visibility in tight driving conditions, reduce blind spots, and enhance pedestrian awareness.
Built with rugged components for consistent performance in different weather and terrain, the system also includes a fast auto-calibration feature that simplifies installation. It supports both standard and custom in-dash displays and can be easily integrated into current vehicle models or upcoming ones through CAN support integration.
Pioneer India’s Advanced R&D team led the development of this system under Pioneer Corporation’s global strategy. This rollout represents the first OEM deployment of camera technology that has been completely developed, manufactured, and implemented by the Indian arm of the company.
“This rollout is a proud moment for our team in India. It reflects our readiness to deliver complex, OEM-grade technology solutions with full local ownership — from concept and development to integration and execution,” said Aniket Kulkarni, Managing Director of Pioneer India.
Siva Subramanian, Executive Officer of Pioneer Corporation and CEO of the Mobility AI and Connectivity Business Unit, described India as a key strategic market. He shared plans to further grow Pioneer’s portfolio of camera and connectivity solutions and collaborate with more Indian automakers to shape in-vehicle experiences.
Pioneer India, a subsidiary of Pioneer Corporation Japan, focuses on audio, infotainment, and mobility technologies for the automotive sector. The company offers local R&D, customer support, and program management to support its OEM partnerships.
Details about the OEM partner, production timeline, or deployment volume have not been disclosed.
