Phot.AI Raises $2.7M to Automate eCommerce Design with AI

Phot.Al an AI-driven creative automation platform, has raised $2.7 million in a seed funding round led by Info Edge Ventures, with contributions from Together Fund, AC Ventures, and over 50 angel investors, including Sahil Goel & Akshay Gulati (Shiprocket), Aakash Anand (Bella Vita), Arjun Vaidya (V3 Ventures), Prabhkiran Singh (Bewakoof), Puneet Gupta & Anmol Jain (Astrotalk), Sandeep Agarwal (Droom), Vishesh Khurana & Raj Snehil (Tribe Capital), and Pawan Gupta (Fashinza). The funding will be allocated to team expansion, research and development, and the launch of the highly anticipated copilot feature.

E-commerce brands are increasingly challenged by the need for visual content, requiring regular updates for product listings, advertisements, and social media. Each platform—Amazon, Shopify, and Meta Ads—demands specific formats, sizes, and localized content, making manual design both expensive and time-consuming. Moreover, traditional design tools often necessitate technical expertise or depend on static templates, which restrict flexibility and scalability.

Visual inconsistencies, slow production times, and limited A/B testing capabilities can negatively impact brand performance, resulting in higher customer acquisition costs (CAC) and reduced conversion rates.

As consumers favor high-quality images over product descriptions, brands must leverage AI-powered automation to efficiently create, optimize, and personalize visuals at scale. Phot.Al streamlines creative design and marketplace listings for e-commerce, brands, and retail. Its AI agents continuously analyze which designs yield the best results across various product categories and marketplaces.

This automation can cut manual effort and costs by up to 80%, expediting brands’ market entry strategies. It also facilitates A/B testing of creatives, enhancing conversions by 40%, while ensuring that visuals meet the formatting and guidelines of platforms like Amazon and advertising networks like Google.

Phot.Al was established in 2023 by Venus Dhuria, Aneesh Rayancha, and Akshit Raja, who previously created AppyHigh, an app publishing studio that achieved over 700 million downloads and secured more than 100 seed investments in emerging startups. The founders possess extensive knowledge in technology and business growth, enabling them to innovate within the e-commerce creative automation sector using AI Agents.

“Phot.Al makes it easy for brands to create high-quality visuals quickly and efficiently,” said Venus Dhuria, Co-founder of Phot.Al. “Our Al-powered platform removes the need for design skills or rigid templates, allowing businesses to generate customized content for different platforms and audiences effortlessly. We help brands create A/B testing creatives so they can test and optimize visuals on their respective platforms for better engagement and performance. By automating the entire creative process, Phot.Al helps businesses save time, maintain consistency, and bring products to market faster,” he added.

The company has already introduced a core engine designed to develop AI Agents, featuring over 25 sophisticated photo editing tools and a design studio that includes an integrated App Store. The platform facilitates product photography, image enhancement, and batch processing through Generative AI.

With more than 3 million sign-ups from various countries prior to its official launch, Phot.Al has shown significant early momentum in the expanding market for AI-driven e-commerce design automation. Additionally, over 25 businesses are utilizing its photo editing APIs to streamline their workflows and boost conversion rates.

Kitty Agarwal, Partner at Info Edge Ventures, commented: “Phot.Al is building a world class product for Al-led creative automation. They are redefining how e-commerce sellers create, manage and scale their visual content and listings across various marketplaces and ad platforms. We are very excited to partner with Venus, Akshit and Aneesh as they build from India for the world. Their deep experience in building global products and distribution from day 1 has been instrumental in getting the company off to a strong start.”

Further affirming its groundbreaking strategy, Phot.Al has been chosen for the global AWS Generative AI Accelerator Program and the JioGen Next program by Reliance. These esteemed accelerators have aided Phot.Al in enhancing its technology and amplifying its influence in the e-commerce sector. As e-commerce brands and sellers look for more effective methods to produce and optimize visual content, Phot.Al is at the forefront with its AI-driven solutions.
