In a move to expand into healthcare, Perplexity AI has introduced a new feature called Perplexity Health, designed to provide personalized AI-driven health insights by combining multiple data sources.
The tool brings together medical records, lab reports, and wearable device data to offer users a complete view of their health. It analyses biomarkers, fitness activity, and long-term trends in one place, helping users better understand their overall condition.
What sets Perplexity Health apart is its advanced AI capability. It can respond to health-related queries using a user’s own data, including blood test results, activity levels, and sleep patterns. This information is combined with general medical knowledge to deliver more accurate and personalized responses.
The platform also integrates with widely used health systems such as Apple Health, allowing data from devices like the Apple Watch to be included. It supports other platforms including Fitbit, Ultrahuman, and Withings, with plans to add Oura in the future. This compatibility enables users to connect existing data across platforms for deeper insights.
Beyond analysing data, the tool can also act on it. Through its agent feature, Perplexity Computer, users can generate personalized fitness routines, nutrition plans, and other recommendations based on their health profile.
The company has also focused on accuracy and privacy. It states that responses are based on clinical guidelines and peer-reviewed research, supported by an advisory board of doctors and researchers. All health data is encrypted, users control what they share, and the information is not used to train AI models or sold to third parties.
