Perplexity AI has rolled out a new Email Assistant aimed at helping users manage and draft emails more efficiently. The service is now available to all Perplexity Max subscribers and works with Gmail and Outlook accounts.
This Email Assistant is designed to understand the user’s writing style and tone, allowing it to send messages that feel naturally written. It also observes communication patterns and suggests meeting times based on the user’s calendar habits. Unlike some generic AI tools, it adjusts to individual workflows and priorities. The company stated that the assistant does not train on personal data and complies with GDPR and SOC 2 security standards.
To activate the feature, Perplexity Max subscribers can send an email to [email protected] from the email account they want to link. Once connected, the assistant can draft email replies, organise conversations, highlight important messages, and assist in scheduling. Users can also include the assistant directly in ongoing email threads by adding it in CC. It will then provide replies and follow up suggestions while allowing users to review and approve before sending.
The assistant can also answer inbox related queries. Perplexity highlighted examples such as “What emails should I prioritise before my board meeting?” or “Summarise all messages about the Q4 budget.”
The Email Assistant also introduces smart labels to sort messages into categories such as completed, action needed, and urgent. This helps users avoid scanning through large volumes of emails to locate what requires attention.
The feature is included in the Perplexity Max plan, priced at 200 dollars which is approximately ₹17,748.
