Palo Alto Networks has launched new artificial intelligence agents designed to help customers automate key cybersecurity actions. The company made the announcement on Tuesday. The new tools are called Cortex AgentiX. They can manage threat intelligence investigations and respond to email breaches. They can also work across various security vendor platforms.
The agents will be available from Tuesday through several existing cloud services provided by Palo Alto Networks. The company plans to offer Cortex AgentiX as a separate platform next year.
Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora said the tools are designed to match the growing demand from customers who want more automation in security systems. He explained that most artificial intelligence agents will still involve a human reviewer before final decisions are made.
Many companies are looking for stronger and faster protection as cyberattacks become more advanced and complex. This month, a cybersecurity firm reported a nation state attack and saw its stock drop by ten percent.
Arora shared his concern that some organisations still think their systems are very secure. He said some businesses remain “under the illusion that they are extremely secure”.
This development comes at a major time of change for Palo Alto Networks. The company is integrating a twenty five billion dollar acquisition of an Israeli identity security company called CyberArk. After the acquisition was announced, Arora told a news channel that CyberArk will support the company’s goals in artificial intelligence and security.
He said “We look for great products, a team that can execute in the product, and we let them run it”.
The new artificial intelligence agents are expected to help customers reduce response time during security incidents. Palo Alto Networks hopes the shift towards automated security support will strengthen protection against increasing global threats.
