Origin Energy elevates Alvin Rubyono to the role of chief information security officer (CISO)

Alvin Rubyono, who has been with Origin Energy for a long time, has been promoted to chief information security officer (CISO).

Rubyono has worked with the energy supplier for more than 12 years in a variety of security positions, most recently as the head of identity protection and cyber defense.

He succeeds Christoph Strizik, who was recently appointed CISO and now leads “IT security, risk and compliance” at Medibank.

“I am grateful for the privilege and the opportunity to lead Origin Energy in the next chapter of our cyber security vision and strategy,” Rubyono wrote on LinkedIn.

“To the Origin Energy leadership team, and also my predecessor, thank you for your vote of confidence and support as I take on this exciting new challenge.”

An Origin spokesperson confirmed Rubyono’s appointment as Strizik’s replacement to Media.

Prior to joining Origin in 2012, Rubyono spent over five years at consultancy EY.
