French telecommunications giant Orange confirmed a significant cyberattack on one of its information systems on Friday, July 25th. The incident has caused service disruptions for some business and consumer customers, primarily affecting operations in France.
Orange immediately activated crisis response protocols with Orange Cyberdefense to isolate compromised services and minimize impact. The company expects to restore main impacted services by Wednesday morning, July 30th.
Orange has filed an official complaint with authorities and is collaborating closely with them on the investigation. At this stage, there is no evidence of customer or internal Orange data exfiltration.
The company’s swift action to isolate affected systems, though causing temporary disruptions, was crucial in containing the incident. This cyberattack highlights the ongoing cybersecurity challenges faced by major telecommunications providers globally.
