Oppo’s next K-series smartphone teased for India

Oppo is preparing to expand its K-series lineup in India and has officially started teasing a new smartphone launch. While the brand has not confirmed the exact name, the upcoming device is widely expected to debut as the Oppo K15, following last year’s Oppo K13. The company has skipped the number 4 in the past, as it is considered inauspicious in China, making the Oppo K14 an unlikely choice.

The K-series has traditionally included multiple variants. Earlier, the K13 was followed by the K13x, along with a gamer-focused K13 Turbo. It is still unclear whether it plans a similar multi-model strategy this time. What is clear, however, is that at least 1 new K-series smartphone is set to arrive in the Indian market soon.

Oppo recently shared a teaser on X that reads, “Get ready for the next K. The new Oppo K series is coming soon,” confirming that the launch is imminent. Alongside this, a dedicated microsite has gone live on Flipkart, confirming the platform as the official online sales partner. The microsite also offers the first glimpse of the upcoming phone, believed to be the Oppo K15.

The teaser visuals show a smartphone with a dual rear camera setup housed in a pill-shaped camera module, accompanied by an LED flash. The device appears to feature a flat back panel with rounded edges. While the teaser does not reveal the full design or colour options, Oppo is expected to share more details closer to the official launch. The exact launch date remains undisclosed, though reports suggest it could happen in February, possibly within the next few weeks.

The upcoming Oppo K15 will succeed the Oppo K13, which was launched in 2025. The Oppo K13 features a 6.7-inch Full-HD AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and packs a 7,000mAh battery. The device debuted at a starting price of Rs 17,999 for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant.
